My Dance Story

As a playful child, I loved dancing, but exposure to toxic beauty standards prevalent in the 90's and 00's made me feel increasingly uncomfortable in my own skin, ultimately causing me to quit dancing altogether.

At 18, I found joy in dancing again through social Latin dances like Salsa and Bachata. Partner dancing made me feel more at ease with my body and boosted my confidence. Later on, I discovered pole dancing which transformed my perspective on fitness, body awareness, and allowed me to push my body to new limits.

After learning about Twerking in Miami and seeing the beauty of Latin and Black women twerking with pride and joy, I returned to Israel in 2012 to pioneer Twerking classes. I wanted to share the love and joy that I had experienced and to help others understand that there isn't a single beauty standard that everyone should follow.

For four years, I taught pole dance and twerking while pursuing my Master of Science degree and working in cancer clinical research. In 2016, I left my job to establish a full-time Twerking business, which included producing twerk events, creating a clothing line, teaching workshops, and launching an online platform.

After obtaining my MBA from NYU Stern School of Business, I wanted to realign my business with my values and become a better ally. I recognized that I wasn't a part of the community who originated twerking and created the GBP method, which offers classes honoring established dance styles while aligning with my values.

Dancing has brought me so much joy, and I hope to inspire others to appreciate and love their bodies, regardless of their shape, size, or ability. It is my mission to provide a safe and inclusive space for everyone to explore their own unique journey, and I invite you to join me.
